Luxury Accommodation in Syros

Luxury accommodation in Syros is concentrated in Ermoupoli, the neoclassical capital. The most refined stays are private mansions and boutique residences in Vaporia and around Miaouli Square — a small handful of properties, three to eight suites each, restored with original marble, hand-loomed linen and personal concierge.

Ermoupoli Travel Guide

Ermoupoli is the capital of Syros and of the South Aegean region — a UNESCO-recognised neoclassical port town founded by refugees from Chios in the 1820s and made wealthy by shipping. Its centre is Miaouli Square (marble), its most photographed quarter is Vaporia (the captains' houses above the sea), and its highest point is Ano Syros (medieval, Catholic).

Family Holidays in Syros

Syros is one of the most family-friendly Cycladic islands: Ermoupoli is walkable and flat around Miaouli Square, the beaches are shallow and short drives away, and the pace of life is slower than Mykonos or Paros. The three-suite scale of Syra di Giovanni 1862 makes a private, unhurried base.
